The Art of Raffia
Madagascar raffia is a natural fibre from the Raphia farinifera palm, endemic to the island. Harvested in the eastern and north-western regions, sun-dried and hand-sorted, this supple, strong and biodegradable fibre remains the reference material for high-end woven accessories — bags, hats, home décor and couture pieces.
At SOBIKA, each piece is handcrafted in Madagascar using demanding crochet, braiding and weaving techniques, passed down through generations within our Antananarivo workshops.
Backed by the expertise of LOI Confection, our workshop operates as a raffia contract manufacturer within a rigorous framework, combining craftsmanship, quality and reliability for fashion houses, designers and children's brands attentive to detail and sustainability.
